Vastu shastra (vāstu śāstra, also
vastu veda and vastuvidya, "science of construction",
"architecture") is an ancient doctrine which consists of
precepts born out of a traditional view on how the laws of
nature affect human dwellings. The designs are based on
directional alignments. It is primarily applied in Hindu
architecture, especially for Hindu temples, although it covers
other domains, including vehicles, vessels, furniture,
sculpture, etc. The foundation of Vastu is traditionally
ascribed to the mythical sage Mamuni Mayan (Mahaa-muni Maya, a
daanava/demon reformed by tapasyaa/austerities) in South and
Vishvakarman in North India.
Our Projects range from small domestic works to large commercial buildings in contemporary, traditional and acient styles.
We offer a free initial consultation, during which we will begin to formulate a brief based on your requirements and produce initial sketch options on larger projects. We then produce an appraisal document that includes the initial sketch options together with our fee proposal and appointment document. We then proceed with the Planning Application.
An Application to Building Control is made, after which we initiate the production of tender documentation, with finalised technical drawings and a detailed NBS specification.
Once the
contractor is appointed, contracts are signed the project
starts on site. At this time as we act as contract
administrators, making periodic visits to site to inspect the
progress of the work to verify it is being constructed in
accordance with the contract documents. We answer queries as
they arise, issue instructions and certify contractor
valuations, and if necessary reject unsatisfactory work on the
way to completion of the project.
